In the heart of the Tuscan Maremma, between hills of undeniable fascination, you?ll find ?Podere la Ciaia?, an old house finely restored dominating the landscape where you will be cordially met by Rosalba, Francesca and Andrea to make your stay an agreeable moment, with a refined family atmosphere.

You will have the possibility of relaxing on the terrace, having a sunbath in the garden and swimming pool. You can rent mountain bikes. If cold, then you can curl up in front of the old fireplace in the drawing room, read your favourite book, relaxing in comfortable sofas or armchairs, chatting and listening to music if you so wish!!

The bedrooms are most welcoming and spacious, carefully furnished with antiques and Grandmothers old linen; open the windows and enjoy the colours of th Maremma. Each bedroom has all comforts, TV & Frigo Bar and private bathroom.

We cultivate saffron, (crocus sativus) pure gold from the Maremma, taking up an old tradition dating from the Middle Ages, when saffron was used to dye cloth. Today mainly used in the kitchen and useful since antiquity for its therapeutic qualities.

Lunch and dinner during the good, sunny and warm seasons are served on the terrace where you can relax in an amazing panorama providing an oasis of peace and tranquillity that will deal with the stress from the cities! The food is simple and tasty, based mainly on typical Maremma fare (wild boar, tortelli?.) top class olive oil, vegetables and salads from our biological kitchen garden, jams, limoncello and nocino all made at home as also the egg pasta, tarts and cakes. All this washed down with excellent local wines d.o.c. (Morellino and Montecucco).
Autumn you can savour the excellent chestnuts from the Amiata, roasted at the kitchen fireplace, in a family atmosphere.
We can also organize barbecues outdoors and birthday, anniversary etc. parties or picnic baskets as special orders or drinks and hors d?ouevres by the pool.

From Podere la Ciaia, situated on a hill between the park of the Uccellina
and the green mountain of the Amiata, the sea as the mountains are easily
reached. Not far you will find Archaeological sites, Nature Parks, Spa?s
and the Tuscan archipelago. Cities of Art, (e.g. Florence and Siena)
Medieval town and villages such as our town, Campagnatico, village on
a rock founded by the Aldobrandeschi family and cited by Dante
in the Divine Comedy.

You also can go riding, horse driven carriages, trekking and canoeing on the Ombrone. Tennis, sailing, surf, fishing, mini motorbikes, even Air balloons! All year round there are many festivities and markets. Francesca, Rosalba and Andrea will be pleased to advise you on all these possibilities.
